African Union Commission’s Ad Hoc Committee on the Pan African Youth Union (PYU) Review process met in December 2021 with leadership of the PYU as recommend by the Specialized Technical Committee on Youth Sports and Culture (STC-YCS3).
Some objectives of the meeting are to take stock of trends, patterns and opportunities for youth engagement in Africa as well as establish the relevance, strategic position, comparative advantage of PYU in the youth engagement ecosystem in Africa.
The leadership of the Pan Africa Youth Union is excited about the development and would continue to commit to processes that reaffirm the position of young people on the continent.
We were particularly excited to meet with both Aya Chebbi then the outgoing and Chido Cleo Mpemba the current Chairpersons Youth Envoys whom we meaningfully collaborate with moving forward.
