As part of the Secretary General Ahmed Bening Wiisichong visit to The Gambia, I paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Republic of The Gambia, H.E Adama Barrow at the State House in Banjul.
The delegation was led by the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Bakary Badjie along with the Chairman of National Youth Council, the Executive Director of National Youth Council and Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The Secretary General briefed His Excellency the President on the work of the Pan African Youth Union and the role the Republic of The Gambia played over the years especially towards the African Youth Charter and also it’s evaluation in Banjul +10.
The African Union Decision EX.CL.Dec292 of 2006 which endorsed the revitalization of the Pan African Youth Union and the adoption of the African Youth Charter are products of The Gambia’s commitment to the African Integration Process and reinforcing the position of youth developmentally.
His Excellency President Barrow reassured the meeting of his continued support towards building a resilient and progressive youth ecosystem.
